the boy in the striped pajama

Went to see The Boy in the Striped Pajama yesterday in an attempt to get over my jetlag.  Overall the movie was good in a typically traumatising holocaust movie sort of a way.  But why did I find myself mostly annoyed with the fact that the Germans in the movie all had British accents?  Obviously the most authentic viewing of this movie would be if they speak German and I read subtitles.  But in lieu of that option, I would have preferred English with a German accent.  Das is good?  I guess that still wouldn’t have been authentic, but I just found it bizarre watching the movie with posh British accents on Nazis.

You tell me what you think…

Hm. But then again, I hate when I watch CNN and they are interviewing a Chinese person and then they make the English speaker sound Chinese but in English.

You can’t win ’em all, I ‘spose.
