Spent last night in bed fighting an oncoming cold by watching Pink Floyd The Wall. And damn it if I don’t enjoy the music every single time I hear it. It seriously never ceases to amaze me how much I love listening to this entire album. It is an epic journey into some fucked up rockstars’ post WWII fatherless rejection filled angst-ridden oedipus psyche. Then it turns all neo-nazi crazy fantasy world. It is such a brilliant album. Would you call it a rock opera?

Why can’t some stupid hip-hopper come up with some full on hip-hop opera with such depth? I bet Eminem could pull off something so tragic and beautiful. I think it would be a cool concept of storytelling for a younger audience.

In the meantime, if you get a chance watch the 1990 Roger Water’s The Wall concert in Berlin. That is some pretty good stuff featuring Cyndi Lauper, Joni Mitchell and some others.
