I have been wanting to get rid of this blasted microwave for some time, but it has been lingering around my house. The only reason that I had it in the first place was because Mark had to get rid of his during his kitchen remodel and I figured that it might be useful or something. Even then I hesitated to take it. Then I got sick and my mom really likes the microwave to heat up her coffee so she wouldn’t let me get rid of it. I have finally taken a stand. It is going. It is going downstairs into the storage unit until I decide to sell it. Bye bye microwave.

I’m wondering if it is weird that I am opposed to the microwave. I have read that over 90% of American households have one. I really see no need for it. I have the stovetop and oven to heat things. Would love to hear your thoughts on if you think a microwave is a necessity or just silly…

This is how I plan on ending 2012. With a big ass chocolate cake that I am baking right now. Yep. I can’t think of a better way to get rid of a shitty year than spending the evening with some great friends eating a fabulous meal, drinking vino and then stuffing my fat face with a homemade chocolate cake (recipe courtesy of Cook’s Illustrated obviously).

I realize that I should probably dedicate more time to reflecting on the past year, but I have had so much time in bed to think about the year and my life that I only want to look forward to 2013 and what a great year it will be.

Happy new year, everyone! I hope you find your own chocolate cake to celebrate with!

Another Christmas at the Robesky household in Fresno. This year we celebrated with a change to our typical prime rib meal by serving bison for the meat. It was actually pretty darned delicious. Much leaner than the fatty prime rib and cooked to perfection. Bob did complain that the seasoning was too strong, but I quite enjoyed the rosemary flavoring In addition to our bison, we had the usual side dishes. Bob’s amazingly creamy mashed potatoes, Graham’s famous Yorkshire pudding that make you stuff your face and some brocolli with a ton of Best Food’s mayo (a Robesky family favorite).

We ate a ton and drank a little bit of wine and acted merry. Isn’t that what you are supposed to do?

This one is for my dad. He said that he was getting sick of looking at the Castro weiners flying in that girl’s face so I decided to make him a Ralphie animated gif.

Christmas Story is legendary around our house. One of the Robesky family traditions that my dad forces us to watch over and over and over again. He loves it and it never seems to get old. I think it reminds him of his childhood or something. Who knows, but now just the mention of the movie makes me think of home.

You’re gonna shoot your eye out!

Reasons to love living in San Francisco #4,703. That a) there is even this talk of banning public nudity mostly due to the “naked guys” who walk around the Castro with their junk out wearing cock rings b) that it is no surprise whatsoever that a nudist would show up and call the “anti-public nudity chairman”, who by the way is named Weiner, a fascist and then disrobe so we can see her old lady boobs. As you can see by the faces of the members of the board of supervisors they are hardly phased by this somewhat odd act, presumably because they live in San Francisco and they expected nothing less!

Watch the video for the unsurprising act and the full frontal old lady boob shot. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
