A part of history that a lot of American’s (and people in general) don’t know about are the internment camps that the Japanese Americans had to live in during WWII. My mother’s entire family was interned for years - born in America and imprisoned by the same country that was supposed to protect them. It took years for the government to admit that they had even done this to their citizens and when they did it was for a paltry sum of 20,000 dollars… For lives lost and families ruined. For shame.
This movie is now making a tour - I would love to take my mom to see a screening of it at one of the locations. We’ve tried to reach the filmmakers, but if anyone sees this and can help - please do. Thanks!

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
The first time I heard about this it was on a B-Series movie.. I couldn’t believe it, i tougth it was fiction… but I look for some info and it happened! Sincerely sometimes I cannot undestand the human stupidity and simplicity… that was one of these moments where I felt ashame of being human… So if instead to be in war with Japan, and the war was been with Ireland (to say something) then had Camps been full of redhaired Americans and Irish surnames?
Why people judges other people because their leaders.. Perhaps are all the North Americans as George Bush?
I remember that in my high school U.S. history textbook there was one line about the internment camps. Only one and it was something to the effect of “People of Japanese and German descent were interned in camps throughout the United States during WWII”. Very disappointing what is being taught in the average high school about parts of our history.
