I have given in to the photobug and purchased a new camera over Christmas time. I now find that my life is consumed with looking at lenses and buying stuff to complete my kit. It isn’t a cheap hobby. Plus I haven’t taken too many pictures because I’m working on figuring out the settings of the camera. I’m going to get one more lens and then I’m quitting buying for a while.

What I have so far?

  • Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens (Black) - the default lens that comes with the camera is pretty much garbage
  • Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi/400D Digital Field Guide
  • Sigma 70-300mm
  • Sigma 28-70mm
  • Canon 50 mm - f/1.4
  • Pro Accessory Kit for Canon EOS
  • Western Digital 160GB 2.5-inch Passport USB Portable Hard Drive - to store the photos on

And finally I am going to buy the Sigma 10-22mm and be done with it. Now if we work out my costs I think I am running at about £100 per picture. Nice.

And, to make matters worse, Canon has just announced a new 12.2mp Digital Rebel.

It never ends. Oh, yeah, that’s right. It doesn’t; we do.
