Yes, you gotta love how times have changed. You can have a funfilled career in the adult entertainment industry or be a high tech flunky. Well these weren’t the options back in the 50s when they made this game up. What shall I be? The exciting game of career girls

I love it. Oh, the dreams you’re going to inspire…
I grew up during the 50’s…saw that game on TV ads. I wanted to be a marine biologist and was told by my college advisor (1963/64)- “women don’t do that…”
Sigh.. did social work and have been a teacher since ‘81. I have traveled a lot, though, and have gotten to dive off the Barrier Reef in AU, climb rainforest trails in Tobago, New Zealand, Au, etc… write about it and get published, married my high school sweetheart last year (that’s 35 years and one marriage later) - so it’s never too late!
For whatever!
When I was graduating high school and asking my father for advice on what to major in college. He said in his Indian accented broken English, “Study English or business, science and math too ‘hard’ for girl’s soft brain.” Yes, this stuff still exists, I’m only in my 30’s.
I majored in English and Communication, became a technical writer and doing rather well. However, I always wonder where I would be if I majored in Marine Biology as I orignally wanted.
