Since most of my life is spent sitting in front of my computer - or toting around my laptop in search of unencrypted wireless spots - I figure that I can let you in on some of my “killer apps”. Actually, I have this t-shirt from back in the day at Netscape - that was the very first Mozilla shirt EVER. With a big dinosaur on it and it says Mozilla Killer App. Ahh, Mosaic Corporation. Kickin’ it old skool style.

  1. Skype - How else could my mother call me at 4 AM for free? Well, actually the parents don’t really phone that often even though it is free. So I guess it is just me…
  2. Trillian - All my little IM programs wrapped up into one. Throw a little Secure IM on there and chat away
  3. Feed Demon - RSS feeds all in one nifty location so I don’t have to surf for news
  4. HTML Kit - Free, easy to use HTML editor. For those geeks that like to do their HTML by hand (like me - and my dislike for Dreamweaver)
  5. SnagIt - For screen capturing. Nothing annoys people more than when you point out EXACTLY where the is a mistake in something by highlighting it in yellow and drawing big red arrows
  6. Putty - Super dorky SSHing when you feel the need to vi something
  7. Firefox - Tabbed browsing. Not Microsoft. My alma matter. Need I say more?
  8. Zinio - Magazines online so I can read them on planes instead of wasting the paper, killing trees and stacking up this stuff in my bathroom for toilet reading
