I am absolutely blown away at the devastation that the tsunami has made on those poor countries. It is unfathomable. I would strongly urge anyone to give money to help out - since it seems that shitty George W. Bush can’t seem to get into his pockets deep enough to send more money. Obviously there is no oil in that region.

Let us take a little example here to illustrate the point.

Daily amount spent on the cost of “war” in Iraq = $177 million
Amount sent for disaster relief = $35 million

I say give the troops a day off and donate that damned money to help out those people. Nice to see where the priorities lie for the US government.

Give money NOW!
World Vision
Unicef
Red Cross

I do not think George Bush is the only person that has to straighten his priorities. The Congress approves/dissaproves budget. And the Congress is elected by regular citizens.

So far, Congress (citizens, indirectly) in the US DO NOT WANT TO HELP TSUNAMI victims as much as they want to protect their interests.

Lets accept that everyone that votes shares responsibility for the actions a country make.

But don’t be too discouraged. Other countries act in the same way. For example,
France, collects $882.8 billion in taxes. Yet, they will only spare 20 million euro for the tsunami victims. Again, the local lawmakers will not devote too much of their budget if it does’t benefit the constituents. Source: http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/fr.html
