just arrived home from brussels, belgium. spent the weekend there with my little apprentice/travling companion/partner in crime/albi. had a nice little 3 day jaunt to the european capital. stayed at the hotel amigo with a nice balcony in the city center.

saw the famous pissing boy - not too exciting

ate a 6 course meal at a 3 star michelin restaruant - bruneau - yummy. i’ll give a quick breakdown of the 6 courses, if i can remember correctly.

• starter - mushroom soup, herring with green beans, salmon with cream dill sauce
• course 1 - cauliflower cous cous topped in stuffed baby squid
• course 2 - fish and mashed potatoes with a cream sauce (my fav course)
• course 3 - langastino spring roll and shrimp mousse in a courgette flower
• to cleanse my little palette - mint sorbet
• course 4 - truffle ravioli in a butter sauce
• course 5 - baby rack of lamb, potatoes au gratin wrapped in ham, and vegetables
• course 6 - fresh strawberries, blueberries, and rasberries in a vodka and cointreu cream sauce

watched the hulk and basic. ate some more food. read some harry potter. and then on our last day, as we were drinking in the hotel, sat across from robbie williams who was having a concert in brussels (and also staying in the suite right next to ours). so all in all, the weekend was complete.
