arrived back from a little mini-holiday with arlie to costa brava. arlie and i left on thursday in our rented peugot 206 convertible. originally the departure time was meant to be early, but after an evening with jules and fiona eating dinner at fuse and then drinks at masimas till 6 am, we were not really up for the trip.
after rehydrating and picking up the car, we finally got on the road around 6ish. the weather was a bit overcast, but we had to take full advantage of the toplessness. arrived at our hotel - which had 5 little stars conveniently placed next to its name - vistabella. checked into our room and headed downstairs for dinner.
fab discovery this hotel. the restaurant - la pasta - was totally amazing. ate fresh lobster liguini and a nice bottle of chianti. for dessert some fresh strawberries and cream. all while sitting on a terrace overlooking the sun setting on the med. i have to say it would be a very romantic location to take someone. i had to make do with arlie. she wasn’t that thrilled when i tried to hold her hand. oh well, can’t blame a girl for tryin’.
well, basically spent the next two days sitting on our asses on our terrace overlooking the ocean. and ate at la pasta every evening with our new resort friendly staff. i was attempting to not get burnt. ended up brown and crispy. yeah!
came back today. went to l’escala - a little fishing village - for lunch. gross pizza. after managing to stay burn free the entire three days in scorching sun, i didn’t put any sunblock on for the convertible ride home. duh. i am now roasting like a tomato. red face.
